COMPOSITION
The product derived from fully matured, sound, fresh, naturally / Controlled Ripened Cavendish variety banana fruits. The preparation process includes manual peeling, mashing the ripe fruit, deseeding, deaerating and homogenising. Aseptic puree is sterilised and packed in pre-sterilised, high-barrier bags placed in steel drums. The bag is heat sealed and the drum tight-closed to ensure no free space inside the drum

INTENDED USE STATEMENT
The product is intended to be used as an ingredient by other food companies that produce products for the consumer market. This product is not for consumption directly by consumers. Once opened the product should be refrigerated at <10°C and processed within 48 hours. The product is destined for local markets.
GMO Status:
This product is “not genetically modified” and “not derived from a genetically modified organism” as defined by the EC Directives 1830/2003/EC on labelling and traceability and 1829/2003/EC on genetically modified food and feed and any amending legislation.
Contaminants and residues (Pesticides /Heavy Metals/ Veterinary residues):
The product complies with the Government Notice No.R.1518 of 9 September 1994 in terms of section 15(1) of the Foodstuffs, Cosmetics and Disinfectants Act, 1972 (Act No 54 of 1972).
R.246 of 11 February 1994: Regulations governing the maximum limits for pesticide residues that may be present in foodstuffs.
R.1809 of 3 July 1992: Regulations governing the maximum limits for veterinary medicine and stock remedy residues that may be present in foodstuffs.
R.500 of 30 April 2004: Regulations relating to maximum levels for metals in foodstuffs.
R.911 of 28 September 2001: Regulations governing certain solvents in foodstuffs (benzene and methanol).
Preparation and/or handling before use or processing:
Clean lids of drums before opening to remove any foreign material on top.
Open aseptic bag in a hygienic way in a closed environment before use.
